Decisions, Decisions...

It's almost time to make the decision to offer to serve as a Councillor for the next 4 years.

I have enjoyed the camaraderie and cohesion of the current team but what lays ahead?

I see some new and old faces lined up at the gate, and it takes a lot to put yourself out there, so congratulations to all for doing that.

The field is diverse but is it diverse enough?

The Councillor role is one not to be taken lightly, it has a tremendous amount of responsibility.

So I ask myself why? I love the town, region and thank the people who live here for the opportunities that are on offer for myself and my family.

Giving back? Not sure that is actually a reason.

Adding value? that really appeals.

Making a difference? that resonates very strongly.

So creating an environment and community whereby all are treated fairly, all have the opportunity to achieve, all can make a difference and harmony prevails. Is this a pipedream?

My aim is to contribute to that occurring by listening, researching, discussing and the acting. Action and leadership will with balanced decisions get us to the place we need or aspire to be.

My thoughts, a great place to live, work and play free from any bias for reason of sexuality, religion, race or economic status...can we do it Tamworth?

I offer to contribute BUT it is not about me, its about we!
